Stitching Introduction |
Your first question at this point may well be “What is stitching?”. Stitching is the technique of blending lots of images together to create a panorama. An in depth explanation can found here. First up, you'll need some software for stitching the images together and creating the panorama file. The software itself comes in a wide variety of quality, cost and complexity. They range from “automatic” to manual stitching processes. Manual programs offer the greatest level of control, to align incorrect seams, etc. One thing is universal for the various applications: stitching programs need a lot of power. They use all the system resources they are given, and so therefore a fast processor, lots of RAM and plenty of space on the hard drive are essential. Here are a few examples of the software available: There are, however, MANY more. These are covered in depth by sites such as: http://www.panoguide.com/software/ There is a summary of links at the end of this section. |
