Setting Up and Taking Photos

Once you’ve assembled all the equipment you need, you’re ready to start taking photos. Obviously first you’ll need to choose a spot to photograph. One hint is to choose a spot with an item of interest in the “foreground” – a monument for example - this can be the focus of the panorama and aids the composition.

The following sections offer some tips on the process:

    1. Using a Tripod and Panoramic Head
    2. Handheld Photos
    3. Setting up the camera
    4. Lighting Conditions
    5. How Many Photos Should I Take?
