This ensures that the camera remains in the same position – it also means that you can take longer exposures (for a better quality photo with excellent focus levels). Ideally it should be used with a Panoramic Head

By mounting the camera in the portrait mode (using the panoramic head), it will give you a greater vertical field-of-view in your finished panorama. In other words you will be able to view more up and down.
